About

Who We Are

Online SOS is a safe place where people can find tools, information and, above all, empowerment, in the face of online harassment.

Who We Serve

While we focus on the needs of U.S.-based journalists, our resources can be used by anyone experiencing online threats to their professional and personal life.

How We Work

We believe in a collaborative approach. With the expertise and research of our team and partners, and the generosity of our supporters, we are building a safe place with the most comprehensive resources on what to do if you're attacked online.

You Aren’t Alone. I’ve Been There.

I remember how vulnerable and angry I felt when it happened to me. I was stalked, threatened, and extorted online, all by an anonymous source.

I didn’t tell anyone at first, because I prided myself on being strong and independent. Then things got worse. Only after countless Google searches--and help from a great psychologist--did I start to regain control of my life.

That’s why I started Online SOS as a nonprofit. I’m committed to creating a safe haven for people who are targeted and threatened online.

Thanks to those who worked tirelessly over the past decade to bring this issue to light, our society now sees online harassment for the serious threat that it is.

Enough is enough. Let’s define the problem and create actionable solutions - together. Let’s create an Internet where everyone can speak freely and boldly; one we’re proud to leave behind for future generations. Join us.
